Using the Quote, It Takes All of Us to Get Along With a Modern Day Coach
Using the Quote, 'It Takes All of Us to Get Along' With a Modern Day CoachWhile reading up on the Teddy Roosevelt quote, 'It takes all of us to get along,' I found out that it really can be used in a lot of ways. One of those ways is with a modern day coach. The founder of The Trev Tutor Company, Tina Ormus-Reid, has an MBA from Harvard Business School. She was an executive at a leading Wall Street firm before starting her coaching business. Her foundation mission is to help people realize their dreams by helping them develop and execute skills needed to achieve their goals. I understand what Tina is doing and why she is doing it, but I also wonder how many others are getting the same ideas.A coach can be taught. They need to be mentored to understand their craft and to know how to communicate it. Of course, they must be able to do the work. What doesn't matter is what people do not take the time to do. I am so impressed with Tina's mentoring and coaching, but I am concerned about the l ack of in depth understanding from other coaches. Some people just don't get it. I am not one of them. There is no need to not be clear about what we are doing, but if there is an unwillingness to learn how to do it then it will not work for you. Some coaches just want to rush through things, but this could be harmful to you and your team. I say that you must see it from their point of view, but you must also see it from your coach's perspective.Your coach's job is to make sure you know your stuff and are able to execute. Not to help you become a great athlete, musician, or dancer. If your coach is working at this level then they are doing their job.
